Somatic therapy is designed especially for you to release stored stress and trauma by connecting your mind and body through movement, breathwork and body awareness. This holistic approach is known to promote deep healing, emotional resilience, and overall well being.
Somatic – What does it mean ?
Let’s start with what “somatic” means. The term somatic means “of or relating to the living body,” and it’s also used in medical terminology, for example, somatic cell, somatic nervous system, somatic disorder, and somatic pain.
The word soma means “the body as perceived from within.”
The words soma and somatic have become buzzwords in the health and wellness industry.
Since the definitions of soma and somatic are fairly generic, they can be used to describe a variety of forms of movement and healing modalities. Pretty much any type of movement or therapy that involves paying attention to your physical sensations and experiences can correctly be described as somatic.

Somatic Self Care
Years of research combined with Aparna’s own personal journey of self healing has come together to create the Somatic Self Care module.
Our Somatic Self Care module is a combination of movements, meditation and breath. Explore below how each one impacts you.
01.
Somatic Movement
Somatic movement is a way to move the body that isn’t performance-driven. It is a way to recognise, during each movement, how you’re feeling physically and mentally as opposed to trying to accomplish something.
Somatic movement helps people get in tune with their body, release built-up emotions, let go of trauma, and manage mental health.
Our sessions cater to all genders across all age groups.
02.
Somatic Meditation
Somatic meditation is a specialized form of mindfulness-based meditation that uses a body-focused approach to cultivate deeper awareness of the sensations within your body.
Instead of relying on visualizations or mantras like many traditional seated meditation techniques, somatic meditation makes the raw sensory experience within the body the primary object of attention.
A way to release accumulated traumas by awakening your body’s native intelligence.
03.
Somatic Breathing
The various elements of somatic breathwork are rooted in the conviction that by bringing awareness to our breath and engaging in different breathing exercises, self-improvement, stress reduction, and emotional healing are possible.
Somatic breathwork is a therapeutic modality dedicated to illuminating the profound influence of our breath on our emotions and our emotions on our breath.

Is Somatic Session for you?
Anyone who has experienced trauma, particularly those dealing with PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, stress, addiction, or other issues where physical sensations are significantly impacted by emotional experiences, could greatly benefit from engaging in somatic therapy sessions. People who want to delve deeper into addressing the intricate mind-body connection and are interested in exploring how their emotional wellbeing affects their physical state could consider somatic therapy as a valuable option.
This therapeutic approach not only facilitates a greater awareness of bodily sensations and movements but also creates a safe space for individuals to process their traumas and emotions holistically. By incorporating techniques such as breathwork, mindfulness, and movement, somatic therapy encourages individuals to become more aware of their physical responses to emotional triggers, fostering healing and resilience. As such, those who experience chronic pain, tightness, or tension in their bodies may find somatic therapy especially beneficial, as it can help them learn to release pent-up emotions and connect with their bodies in a supportive and nurturing manner, potentially leading to profound transformations in both their mental and emotional health.
For anyone wanting to work on themselves and see tangible shifts in their physical, emotional and mental bodies, we recommend to start with a course duration of 3 months.
Please note a minimum of 8 sessions is mandatory to enroll in the course.
See you on the mat !
